A Co-Founder and Vice President of Aspire Prosthetics & Orthotics Inc. He is an American Board for Certification (ABC) Certified Prosthetist Orthotist and Biomedical Engineer who is licensed by the Pennsylvania’s state board of Medicine. He earned his BSE degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Hartford in 2008 and completed his graduate certificate program in Orthotics & Prosthetics at University of Hartford’s Newington Certificate Program. Knittel is best known in the field of Prosthetics & Orthotics for his expertise in Pediatrics Orthotic Management, especially, Scoliosis; Trauma Bracing, and Lower Extremity Prosthesis. His engineering research in Hartford focused on Orthotics and Prosthetics with focus on outcome measure of Scoliosis Bracing. Knittel was awarded full scholarship to study both Orthotics and Prosthetics at University of Hartford. He acquired a lot of knowledge and experience from working with some of the top companies in the industry. Knittel has been fortunate to provide services to great institutions such as NASA, NSF, University of Maryland Hospital Systems, Baltimore, VA, Albany Medical Center, Helen Hayes Hospital, Connecticut Children’s Hospital, Health South of York, and Wellspan Health of York. Knittel has received specialized training in Cranial Remolding Helmets, Sure Step, Walk Aide, Providence Brace, Charleston Brace, Trauma Bracing, Plie MPK, Pneumatic Knee and Ankle Prosthesis, and LIM Infinite Socket Technology. His professional memberships include American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, Association of Children’s Prosthetic-Orthotic Clinics, and Amputee Coalition of America. Knittel enjoys playing and teaching soccer and chess.
