Let me start to answer this question by saying this..."It's not what you know, but who you know" which is a well-know saying. Yet, it is only half- true. The reality is that, in order to manage a career, grow a business or guide your personal or professional endeavors, IT IS WHO KNOWS YOU!
Talent alone will not prevail, nor will skill, experience either. It is the relationships you have made, and the connections you have established, that contribute to your success.
What is success? I cannot define it for you. You know what you want, what you value, and what you're willing to do to get "it". "Paying dues" is unavoidable, but you can "negotiate" the payments if you have visibility and viability in your profession, industry, company, and community.
Being actively involved in the membership in ERN with like minded professionals is extremely valuable to me personally and professionally.
The closest thing to knowing something is to know where to find it. People whom have resources are resourceful.
ERN networking is a reciprocal process, an exchange of ideas. referrals, and suggestions that support both our professional and personal lives. There is also a spirit of sharing that transcends the information shared. The best networkers reflect that spirit with a genuine joy in their "giving".
ERN Membership Networking works because we all appreciate the path and the process as well as the destination through defined structure.
Powerful people have linkages that are plentiful, diverse and expansive------and are able to get things done because of those linkages---ERN Membership provides this resource to my clients or potential clients.
ERN membership understands completely that Networking is an enrichment program, not an entitlement program, I am grateful for this fact.
Through being a very involved member in ERN and serving membership on the ERN Board this
organization has been very valuable to Marilyn, myself,and our entire Team at Nationwide Payments. We are grateful for the vision that Scott Sides of RBC Wealth Management had in starting this organization over 23 years ago.

I am blessed to have met the love of my life Marilyn, and my life is better through knowing her and having her as truly my best friend, next to God. I have two children Grace and Grant whom are my greatest gifts.
Marilyn and I are fortunate to have a wonderful family, and many great friends.
